Description
The Apogee MU-200 Portable Separate UV Meter is designed for quick and convenient measurements of UV radiation in the wavebands between 250 and 400nm. These wavebands cover UV-C, UV-B and UV-A. The MU-200 sensor is separated from the handheld meter by a 2m long cable. UV sensors can be used to measure the light intensity whether the source is the sun, fluorescent lights, germicidal lamps or other sources of UV radiation. Low levels of UV light have a positive effect on plant growth and seed germination but higher levels can be harmful and even toxic.
Apogee UV sensors incorporate a photodiode that measures combined UVA and UVB radiation. The MU-200 has a separate sensor while the handheld meter displays and stores measurements. The meter offers a setting to measure UV in µmol m-2 s-1 or Watts m-2
